Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette July 31, 1909 A FRUIT SHOWER Last evening Mrs. Nora McKeil and Miss Lucy Stick entertained in honor of Miss Leona Wilson, whose marriage to Andrew Petersen is to take place next Tuesday. Friends were invited to a fruit shower at the home of Mrs. McNeil, and the bride-elect was presented with canned fruit, jelly preserves, etc. sufficient to make a goodly store for the beginning of housekeeping, They also gave Miss Wilson a recipe book which contained full directions for putting up fruit, jelly making and the like. The refreshments, very appropriate to the occasion and for a |warm evening, were entirely of fruit. The decorations were red and white hearts, bells and cupids. Various games were played by way of pastime.
