1850 OH CENSUS, Monroe Co., Elk Twp: Samuel Forshey, 4, was living with his parents, John and Debby Forshey, and 7 siblings. Everyone in the family was b. OH.

1860 OH CENSUS, Noble Co, Elk Twp, "Harriettsville" P. O.: Samuel Forshey, 13, attended school, was living with his parents, John & "Dibby" A. Forshey, and 7 siblings. All were b. OH.

According to family stories, Samuel had farm land right behind the cemetery in Red Oak and Thomas Forshey had a farm next door to that land. (I am not sure if it was Thomas the son, when older, or Thomas, Samuels brother.)

Samuel married Nancy Jane SHAMBLEN, daughter of Frederick SHAMBLEN and Aseneth "Sena" WICKHAM, on 25 Jan 1870 in Noble Co, OH.¹ (Nancy Jane SHAMBLEN was born about 1849 in Enoch Twp, Monroe Co, OH,⁶ died in 1892 in Red Oak, Montgomery Co, IA ⁴ and was buried in Hewitt Cem, Red Oak, Montgomery Co, IA ⁵.)
