INFO FROM RANDY HAMMOND: Frank was a rural mail carrier and a farmer. Frank and Elsie met through a 'lonely hearts club'. Elsie was living in Chicago, IL and Frank was living in Alta Vista, IA at the time. Frank Hammond never talked about his father and when his children asked a question about their grandfather, the subject was changed. His children were told that William W. Hammond took off shortly after Frank was born.

DEATH CERTIFICATE: Frank's death certificate lists his father's name as Warren Hammond. (Note: Was Warren the middle name of William Hammond?) (The Union Cemetery in Alta Visa, IA is next to the former site of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, later the United Methodist Church.)

Frank married Elsie Irene SHEETZ/SCHEETZ on 15 Oct 1918 in New Hampton, Chickasaw Co, IA.¹ (Elsie Irene SHEETZ/SCHEETZ was born on 4 Aug 1882 in Millersburg, Dauphin Co, PA,¹ died on 14 Feb 1964 in hospital New Hampton, Chickasaw Co, IA ¹ and was buried in Union Cem, Alta Vista, Chickasaw Co, IA ¹.)
