OBIT: "Robert Eugene, son of James and Elva Wickham Homewood, was born Feb. 25, 1921 near Hawkeye in rural Fayette Co, IA. As a youngster, he attended rural Fayette Co. schools. On Feb. 25, 1944, he was united in marriage with Phyllis Woodson in MO. The couple farmed north of Hawkeye for many years before retiring and moving to town in 1966. The past few years Bob has worked for the Farm Service Company in Hawkeye. Bob's death occurred this past Friday morning, May 30, 1986 at Palmer Memorial Hospital in West Union following a sudden illness. He was 65 years old and a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Hawkeye. In addition to his wife, Phyllis of Hawkeye, he is survived by 3 brothers, Clifford and Charles, both of Hawkeye, and Jerry of Waterloo, and several nieces and nephews. He as preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Amy and Bessie; and 2 brothers, Ray and Howard."

Robert married Phyllis P. WOODSON, daughter of John Jefferson WOODSON and Amanda "Rena" SMOCK, on 25 Feb 1942 in Lancaster, Schuyler Co, MO.¹ (Phyllis P. WOODSON was born on 23 May 1923 in IA ⁴ and died on 18 Nov 2000 in West Union, Fayette Co, IA ⁴.)
