OBIT, 1918: DIED THURSDAY - Funeral of John Fayer Held Saturday Afternoon
John Fayer, well known citizen, died Thursday evening at his home three miles west of Montezuma, following a week's illness. The deceased had a large circle of friends who mourn his death. The funeral services were held saturday afternoon at the late hme conducted by Rev. Cadwell.
John Fayer was born in Iowa county January 21, 1861, and departed this life May 23, 1918, at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 2 days. He has been in failing health for more than a year past but his last illness was of but a week's duration.
He was united in marriage with Sarah A. Frost, January 21, 1890. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and two brothers, Mike and New Fayer, both of whom reside near Montezuma. A sister, Mrs. Mary Coburn, preceded him in death in April, 1908.
