OBITUARY: RICHARD R. TAFT - A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Gladstone First Christian Church for Richard R. Taft, Troutdale, an adjuster for Unigard Insurance Co. who has been missing and presumed drowned since a March 14 boating accident in the Columbia River near Astoria.
MR. Taft, of 105 SE 218th Ave., Troutdale, was born in Portland April 12, 1927, and lived his entire life in the area, graduating from West Linn High School. He was an Oregon State policeman for seven years before joining Unigard.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; parents Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Taft, Gladstone; one daughter, Katherine; three sons, Mike, Vincent and Bobbie; and one sister, Mrs. C. A. Bates, Yachats.
The family suggests remembrances be donations to the Gladstone First Christian Church or to the Oregon Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
