MARRIAGE RECORD, HARDIN CO, IA, Book D, pg. 28: Carrie Wickham, age 18, and James O. Reeves, 26, b. OH were married 21 Feb 1880 by J. P. Quiggle, J.P. at Steamboat Rock, Hardin Co, IA.

1880 IA CENSUS, Hardin Co, Jackson Twp: James Reeves, 27, son, married, blacksmith, b. OH, parents b. OH; Carrie, dau-in-law,19, married, b. OH. They were living with James' parents, Richard & Mary Reeves, and James' siblings.

HARDIN CO, IA BIRTH RECORD: Female child was b. May 14, 1881 at Hubbard, Iowa to Carrie and James Oliver Reeves. James was 28 years old, a blacksmith and was b. OH. Carrie was 19 years old and was b. IA. Dr. Philip Slack of Hubbard, Iowa attended.

1885 IA STATE CENSUS, Howard Co, Livermore: James O. Reeves, 32, married, blacksmith, b. OH; C. C. Reeves, 22, married, keeping house, b. Cedar Co, IA; Lily M. Reeves, 2, b. Hardin Co, IA.

OBIT: Apr. 6, 1888, Death entered the home of our respected citizen, James Reeves, last Saturday morning, and took from him his wife. Mrs. Carrie Catherine Reeves, born in Iowa, she married James Reeves eight years ago in Hardin County, and removed to this town 5 years ago. She was 25 years of age on the day of her death. Her death was caused by an infection of the lungs and heart, which kept her confined to her bed during the last months of her life.
She leaves a husband and three children to mourn her loss, the youngest child being only 4 months of age. The funeral occurred at the Presbyterian Church last Saturday, the sermon being preached by Rev. Zimmerman. She was buried in the cemetery west of town.
Mr. Reeves has the fervent sympathy of all who know him, in his afflictions. His mother and sister will hereafter live with him, and help him care for the motherless children.
