Mrs. Andrew Petersen
Clare Nichols Petersen, 82, widow of Andrew Petersen, and a resident of Meth-Wick manor, died early Sunday following a brief illness. A Cedar Rapids resident most of her life, she was born Oct. 28, 1884, at Shell Rock. She was
a member of St. Paul's Methodist church and the second superintendent
of recreation in Cedar Rapids and was in the city recreation program from 1927
to 1936, when she became youth director at the First Presbyterian
church until 1940.
Memorial services: Turner Chapel East at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Leigh Soule and Dr. Glen McMichael. Burial: Linwood cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel until 10 a.m. Tuesday. The casket will not be opened after the service.
