Katherine E. Dexter of Hawleyton
Katherine E. Dexter, 83, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 15, 2006. Her husband, Robert Dexter, Sr.; and her parents, Olin and Edna Jaycox; and a brother, Joseph Jaycox, predeceased her. Katherine is survived by her children, Joseph and Barbara Dexter, Clarks Green, Pa., Robert and Renee Dexter, Owego, and Charlene and Wayne Bryant, Greene. She leaves behind four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Both family and friends will dearly miss her. Katherine was a lifelong resident of Hawleyton, where she retired from the Susquehanna Valley Central School District after more than 35 years in the Transportation Department. She was active in both the Hawleyton United Methodist Church and community activities in the Town of Binghamton, and devoted many hours as a volunteer to various community service organizations. The family is grateful for the compassionate care shown Katherine by the staff of the Willow Point Nursing Home. We thank you.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 19th, at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, with the Reverend William Puckey officiating. There will be a spring interment in Hawleyton Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, March 18th, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Katherine's name may be made to Hawleyton United Methodist Church, 901 Hawleyton Road, Binghamton, New York 13903.
