OBIT: McMechen, W.Va. - Mae O. Moore Johnston Wickham, 88, of McMechen, W.Va., formerly of Sistersville, W.Va. passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va. She was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Middlebourne, W.Va., a daughter of the late Elias and Margaret Catherine Cooper Moore of Tyler County, W.Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Virgil D. Wickham and Franklin Johnston; a daughter, Jacqueline; four brothers, E. Glenn, Wayne, Harry and Ivan Moore; three sisters, Mary Grace Moore, Edith Moore and Hilda Moore Anderson. Mae was a retired histology technician with Reynolds Memorial, East Ohio Regional and Bellaire City Hospitals. She was a devout Christian and thirty-three year member of the First Christian Church in McMechen, where she was a deaconess Emeritus, former board member, choir member and member of The Loyal Gle- aners Class. She was also a long time volunteer with the Wheeling Soup Kitchen, as well as a well known seamstress throughout the area. Surviving are three sons, Eddie Johnston and his wife, Emily of Malta, Ohio, Dean Johnston and his wife, Jane of Glen Dale, W.Va. and Mike Johnston of Wheeling; four daughters, Natalie Johnston Doty of Wintersville, Ohio, Catherine Johnston Cuddeback and her husband, Robert of Michigan City, Ind., Debbie Monahan and her husband, Paul of Houston, Texas and Charla Schultz and her hus- band, Tim of McMechen; 10 grandchildren, Raelinn Doty Stegall of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mark Johnston of Zanesville, Ohio. Kerri Johnston Stevens of Gahana, Ohio, Amy Johns- ton Herne of Pittsburgh, Pa., Greg Johnston of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Johns- ton of Morgantown, W.Va., Olivia Johnston of Sistersville, Ryan Johnston of Wheeling, Jaclyn Johnston of McCon- nellsville, Ohio and Jason Wickham of McMechen; and six great-grandchildren, Kate, Vaughn and Maggie Stegall, Tyler and Travis Johnston and Sophie Stevens. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen. Interment in Archer's Chapel Cemetery, Middlebourne, W.Va.
