WV MARRIAGE RECORD: Robert Shroads, 21 and Viola Brewer, 21 applied for a marriage licence on Mar. 21, 1942. Both were b. Chester, WV and both resided Chester, WV. They were married Mar 28, 1942 at Wellsburg, Brooke Co., WV by Rev. Wm. J. Fayer, a minister of the gospel, Assembly of God.

OBIT, The Review, Steubenville, OH: Sept. 22, 2008: Viola Mae Welch, 84 - NEW MANCHESTER - Viola Mae Welch, 84, of Lamp Post Lane, New Manchester, died on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Steubenville.
Born in Chester on Sept. 30, 1923, Viola was a daughter of the late Thomas Alva Doar Brewer and Clara E. Robinson Brewer. Viola had previously worked 10 years as a filing clerk at the Bank of New York in New York City, and was a Free Methodist by faith.
She was preceded in death by husbands, George Welch and Donald Malderella; sister Violet Wyke; brother and sister-in-law Emmit and Lois Brewer; daughter Barbara LaCapria; son-in-law Fred Koschack; niece Shirley Gallop; and good friends John Cox and Alice Coburn.
Surviving are two daughters, Gail Koschack of New Manchester and Kathy (Michael) Juliano of Chester; two sons, George Welch of California, and Randy Welch of New York City; grandchildren, Debra (Steve) MacLean, Christopher Koschack, Jennifer (Michael) Burnham, Margaret LaCapria, William LaCapria, James Juliano, Sindy Juliano, Raymond Welch, George Welch, and Jeffrey Welch and 14 great-grandchildren: Jaden, Devin, Shawn, Chris, Jack, Vincent, Alyssa, Josh, Antonio, Gina, Raymond Jr., Ryan, Joseph, and Joanna; numerous nieces and nephews; and very close friends Theresa Timmers and Bonnie Bailey.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, where Rev. Delmar Logston will conduct services on Friday at 11 a.m. Private interment will be at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.

Viola married Robert James SHROADES on 28 Mar 1942 in Wellsburg, Brooke Co, WV.¹ (Robert James SHROADES was born on 20 Jul 1923 in Chester, Hancock Co, WV,³ died on 13 Nov 1997 in hospital Salem, Columbiana Co, OH ⁴ and was buried in Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana, Columbiana Co, OH.)

Viola next married George Grant WELCH, son of George Virgil WELCH and Minnie Belle PROFFITT, on 12 Apr 1945 in Chester, Hancock Co, WV.¹ (George Grant WELCH was born on 16 Mar 1924 in Hancock Co, WV ³ and died in May 1969 in probably WV ³.)
