OBIT: Waukon Standard (IA), January 9, 2002: Lucille Anderson - Funeral services for Lucille Anderson were held Fri., Dec. 28, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville. The Reverend Gary Catterson officiated. Special music was provided by Christine Enyart, soloist and Beverly Bacon, organist. Casketbearers were grandchildren, Grant Snitker, Jr., Brian Snitker, Gloria Boyd, Frank Wickham, Jr., Chad Wickham, Tammy Wickham. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Bloomfield Cemetery at Castalia.
Evelyn Lucille (Jones) Wickham Anderson, the only daughter of Edward Jones and Wava Margaret Cain Jones, was born Sept. 5, 1918 in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, east of Postville. Lucille loved life, but on Monday afternoon Dec. 24, 2001 after 83 years, three months, and 19 days, it was time for her to close her eyes for the last time and let this life go.
Lucille had three brothers, Virgil (Buck), Leslie (Dick) and Charles (Charlie) Jones, all of who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was a granddaughter, Kendra Lee Wickham.
Evelyn Lucille Wickham and Rodney Earl Anderson were joined in marriage on Aug. 31, 1964, in Burton Township, Genesee County, Michigan. Both she and Rodney enjoyed camping, fishing, and reading. Lucille loved life, her family, and her friends. After 36 wonderful years of marriage to Lucille, Rodney died on March 30, 2001 after a brief illness. Lucille lived in Castalia most of her adult life, and only in the last year of her life did she leave the home she loved so much. She moved into the Grand Meadows Congregate Living apartments in Postville in Sept. of 2000, where she could receive help when she needed it and still have a feeling of independence.
Lucille was always a hard worker and held many different jobs during her lifetime. The job she loved most was having her own business, Anderson Rest Home in Decorah, Iowa. She loved the residents and treated them like family. Lucille wanted every meal to be home cooked, just like the meals they remembered from home. She retired from her business more than 20 years ago following the emergence of regulated care facilities. Before retiring from the business, Lucille took great care in placing each of her residents in other care centers. In the following years she often spoke of those times at the rest home with a smile and a gleam in her ey
Surviving are her two children, her son Frank Wickham and his wife Phyllis, of New Hampton, and her daughter Sharon and her husband, Grant Snitker, of Waukon; six grandchildren, Grant Snitker, Jr. and wife, Paula, of Southlake, TX, Brian Snitker and wife, Karen, of Creston, Gloria Boyd of Dunkerton, Frank Wickham, Jr. and wife, Joanne, of Ionia, Chad Wickham and wife, Laura, of Savage, MN, and Tamara Wickham of Fredericksbur
She also leaves eight great grandchildren: Jerry, Jr. and Jessica Boyd; Brooke Ameling, Trevor Snitker, Bethany, Mariah, Dekota and Carter Wickham, and many other relatives and friends. Lucille (Lucy) lived a long, full life and was loved by many. She will be missed by all who knew her, and remembered with a smile.

Lucille next married Rodney Earl ANDERSON on 31 Aug 1964 in Burton Twp, Genesee Co, MI. (Rodney Earl ANDERSON died on 30 Mar 2001.)
