OBIT, Kahoka Gazette Herald, Feb. 12, 1912 and Clark County Courier, Feb. 9, 1912:
"James died at his home one mile west of Luray, MO after a long illness. The funeral was held Saturday morning in the Luray M. E. church by Rev. Bruner and he was buried in the Luray cemetery. The Wickhams moved to Keokuk, Lee Co, IA in 1847 and to Luray, Clark Co., MO , in 1856. James was a member of the Home Guards during the Civil War and participated in the Battle of Athens. He was a farmer."
(Note: Cemetery is located in the eastern side of Luray, in the part of town known in early days as Eldorado.)
