OBIT, Parons Sun, Sun. Dec 9, 2004: Independence, Mo. - Louis W. "Bill" Wickham Sr., 84, formerly of Coffeyville, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Independence Regional Health Center in Independence, Mo. He was born July 30, 1920, in Coffeyville to Hiram Leonard and Cora Mae (Mumford) Wickham. He married Georgia Madine Callahan in Joplin. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1944. He received an honorable discharge as a sergeant.
He and his wife made their home in Parsons, where he worked for the city until 1965. They moved to Coffeyville in 1966, where he worked for the city water department as a foreman until his retirement in 1986. After retirement they moved to Independence, Mo., to live with their son, Ron, due to the illness of his wife. He remained there until his death. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Ron Wickham of the home and Louis Wickham Jr. of Bartlesville, Okla.; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diana Lee; two brothers, Raymond and James; and two sisters, Ethel and Goldie.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel-Graves Chapel, Coffeyville. Memorials to American Cancer Society may be left at or mailed to the funeral home in Coffeyville
