Death of Mrs. George Bunnell.
Mrs. George Bunnell, who it will be remembered by our readers, made an attempt of suicide on the morning of April 6th last, by drinking a cup of Lewis lye, passed away at a hospital in Ottumwa on Sunday. Since the taking of the poison, Mrs. Bunnell's throat contracted to such a degree that it was necessary to place a tube into her stomach, thus giving her nourishment that way. Conditions developed which caused blood poisoning from the effects of which she died. The body was taken to Sigourney, Tuesday and was taken to a cemetery some distance from there for burial, which we are told was made without any funeral service whatever. Besides her husband she leaves a two year old boy. Mrs. Bunnell is only 19 years of age, and this is certainly a tragic ending of young life. -Delta Press.
