Bert and Julia lived most of their married lives in McLean Co, ND raising their family of three girls, Phoebe, Ruth and Grace. He was a farmer and worked as a section-hand for the Soo Line Railroad, retiring in 1935. They were to have 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
