1885 IA STATE CENSUS, Johnson Co, Cedar Twp, p 205: Samuel was a farmer, age 47, living with his wife and 4 children: J. H., C. F., A. M., D. A.

JOHNSON CO, IA LAND RECORDS: On Mar. 28, 1888 Samuel Wickham and his wife Mary J. sold 20 acres of land to James Boxa for $500 and 20 acres of land to Johan Karel for $300. Both these pieces of land were located section 11, township 81 and range 5.

1889 IA PLAT MAP, Johnson Co, Cedar Twp: Samuel owned land on the east side of the Cedar River, section 11.

1895 IA STATE CENSUS, Johnson Co: Samuel, 56, b. OH; Mary Jane, 45, b. IL; Charles, 23, b. Cedar Co, IA; Dora Alice, 4, b. Cedar Co, IA; Pearl, 1, b. Johnson Co, IA.

1900 IA PLAT MAP, Johnson Co, Cedar Twp: Samuel Wickham owned land in section 11, on the east side of the Cedar River.

PETITION OF LETTER OF ADMINISTRATION, Johnson Co, IA: "Comes now, Mary J. Wickham, a resident of said County, and respectfully represents that on or about the 3rd of Feb., 1895, Samuel Wickham, a resident of said County, died intestate, leaving at the time of his death the following heirs, to witt:
Mary J. Wickham, his widow
Mary Beese (nee Wickham), daughter
Henry Wickham, adult son
Charles Wickham, adult son
Allie (Wickham) Fowler, daughter
Dora Wickham, minor daughter
Pearl Wickham, minor daughter.
And your petitioner further showeth that all the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased do not exceed in value the sum of $100 and your petitioner prays that Letters of Administration of the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased may be granted by the District Court to your petitioner. Dated Feb. 15, 1895. Mary J. Wickham"

CEMETERY RECORDS: a son and a daughter, unnamed, are buried next to Samuel Wickham and his wife.

LETTER FROM MRS. WILLIAM BEESE, Lisbon, IA, Nov. 23 1940: "In Reply to your letter - My father name was Samul Born in Ohio died 1905 Mother name was Kohl from Pennsylvania died 1914.
Now the Oren Wickham I knew was a cousin to my father and his half sister married my father Brother Jim and he a son by the name of Samul died now and Oren is dead his wife and 3 Boy are in Cedar Rapids and his Sister Jennie lives in C. Rapids - - - " (transcribed as written)

Samuel married Rachel STEFFEY on 17 Aug 1862 in Cedar Co, IA.¹ (Rachel STEFFEY was born in PA and died before 1870.)

Samuel next married Mary Jane KOHL on 22 Feb 1867 in Jones Co, IA.² (Mary Jane KOHL was born on 3 Aug 1850 in Stephenson Co, IL,⁴ died on 22 Aug 1913 in Lisbon Twp., Johnson Co, IA ⁵ and was buried on 24 Aug 1913 in Wallick Cemetery, Linn Twp, Cedar Co, IA ⁶.)
