George Russell Layton - Death Notice
Layton, George Russell, 90, retired Santa Fe Railroad employee for 38 years and WWII Veteran, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Bessie (Kenyon) Layton. Survivors include: wife of 45 years, Gloria Layton, Wichita; children, Bill (Janet) Wickham, Berryton, KS, Rick Wickham, Rose Hill, Marvin Layton, Little Rock, AR; sisters, Isabel Hunt, Scottsdale, AZ, and Maxine Huffman, Longview, TX; and one grandchild. Memorial service 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, Affinity All Faiths Mortuary, 1525 N. Buckner, Derby. A memorial has been established with Robert J. Dole VA Hospital, 5500 E. Kellogg, Wichita, KS 67218.
