OBIT, Feb. 11, 1998: MONTROSE, IA -
Margaret Ellen Wickham, 89, of Montrose, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998 at her son's home, in Davenport, Iowa. She was born Jan. 25, 1909, in Pierce, Texas, the daughter of Sherman Harrison and Vida Moss Reisland Calhoun. She married Ira Rouse Wickham on July 2, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1970.
Survivors include: two son, Theodore (Ted) Wickham of Davenport and James (Jim) Wickham of Montrose; a daughter, Ruby C. Pihl-Wickham of Fort Madison; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Albert VanAusdall; a daughter, Norma Jean Pihl, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1994; four brothers, Sherman Fredrick Calhoun, Theodore Roosevelt Calhoun, Lawrence "Shorty" Merrell Calhoun and Clarence Irvin Calhoun; two sisters, Mary Leona Hagmeier and Ruby Phyllis Kleinert; and a great-grandson.
She was retire, having been employed at Wicks in Montrose, until the business closed.
Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Montrose Cemetery
in Montrose, with the Rev. Scott Nesbitt officiating. Visitation was today at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, with family meeting friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
