OBIT: Waverly - Clarence E. "Wick" Wickham, 80, of Waverly died Friday, Dec. 15, at the Bartels Lutheran Home skilled nursing unit from complications of diabetes; survivors include his wife, Maud; and a daughter Victoria Wickham of Des Moines; he was preceded in death by a brother Melvin Perkins; and two sisters, Mary Alice Behn and a sister in infancy; services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly; burial will be in Harlington, Cemetery, Waverly, with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 176 of Waverly; friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. Masonic service by Tyrrell Masonic Lodge 116 AF and AM of Waverly, and from 9 a.m. to services Monday at the funeral home; memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial fund to be established; a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Wickham farmed in Hardin County and in Plainfield, was a night patrolman for the Waverly Police Department, and then served as chief of police from 1962 until retiring in 1977 and was mayor of Waverly from 1977 to 1983; he formed the Waverly Auxiliary Police and was a Red Cross instructor for 20 yeas; a former president of the Bremer County Peace Officers Association and the Northeast Iowa Police Officers Association, he was also past commander Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2208.
