PRINCEVILLE, IL - Ellen L. Richoz, 92, a resident of Riverview Retirement Community in East Peoria, formerly of Princeville, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL.
Ellen was born Feb. 19, 1916, in LaPrairie Township, Marshall County, Ill., the daughter of Roy Wesley and Lilla Henrietta Crady Foster. She married Floyd John Taylor on Oct. 28, 1941, in Princeville. He died Dec. 22, 1944, in Italy, while serving in World War II. She then married Charles F. Richoz on Nov. 13, 1956, in Princeville. He died May 26, 1994, in Princeville.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, two sisters, two stepsons and one stepdaughter.
Surviving are one son, Ben (and Jackie) Taylor of Chillicothe; one daughter, Nancy Hall of Peoria; two granddaughters, Wendi Weith of Seattle, Wash., and Kelsey Hall of Downers Grove, Ill.; one grandson, John (and Melissa) Taylor of Kansas City, Kan.; foster granddaughter, Darlene (and Sean) Coleman of Granville, Ill.; 11 stepgrandchildren, Angela Hall of Bloomington, Ill., Jennifer Konczyk of Lincoln, Ill., Julia Hall of Peoria, David Richoz of Minnesota, Michelle Ekleberry and Jacque Neal, both of Colorado, Andrea Williams of Missouri, Debbie Meyers of Florida, Diane Barclay of New York, and Donna Harber and Deidre Petrillo of Michigan; several great-grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Judy Richoz of Denver, Colo., and Mary Lou Doubat of Detroit, Mich.
Ellen was a member of the Princeville Garden Club and the Princeville Eastern Star.
She also was a member of the Princeville United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2008. Pastor Rex Hendrix will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home in Princeville. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service.
