OBIT: Sioux City Journal (IA), Oct 23, 2006: South Sioux City - Elizabeth M. Curry, 96, of South Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Hillcrest Care Center in Laurel, Neb. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Gilbreath, pastor of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born Dec. 27, 1909, in Dallas, S.D., the daughter of Fred and Margaret C. (Brown) Leedom. She attended country school in Dakota County and received her practical nursing certificate from Norfolk Nursing School.
She married Thomas R. Curry on Feb. 14, 1926, in South Sioux City. She was employed at several doctors' offices and later at Green Acres Nursing Home. She was a Methodist and a lifetime member of Eastern Star Laura Chapter 301 in South Sioux City.
Survivors include a son, Eugene and his wife, Judy Curry of South Sioux City; three grandchildren and their spouses, Scot and Leisa Curry of Panama City, Fla., Jeff and Gail Curry of Laurel, Neb., and Curt and Laura Curry of Barnstable, Mass.; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas on April 3, 1995, in Sioux City; her parents; six brothers; five sisters; and a grandson, Bryan Paul. Honorary pallbearers will be Scot, Jeff, Curt, Skyler and Elizabeth Curry.

Elizabeth married Thomas Raymond CURRY, son of William Frederick "Fred" CURRY and Sarah Otis WICKHAM, on 14 Feb 1926 in South Sioux City, Dakota Co, NE.¹ (Thomas Raymond CURRY was born on 11 Sep 1906 in NE ² and died on 3 Apr 1995 in South Sioux City, Dakota Co, NE ².)
