OBITUARY: IDAHO STATE JOURNAL, Monday, Aug. 16, 1954:
Cleo Ruth Salter - Cleo Ruth Salter Halford, 33, 141 Taft Ave, died in a Salt Lake City hospital Friday evening after an operation.
She was born Oct 13(?), 1920, at Cincinnati, OH, a daughter of Joe S. & "Lora" Lee "Wixom" Salter. She was married to Alfred L. Halford Jan. 27, 1947 at Plehoc(?), Nev. They moved to Pocatello where they lived until Nov., 1947, when they moved to Montana and later on to Northern Idaho, returning to Pocatello in 1940(?) where Mr. Halford has operated Pop's Delivery Services since that time.
She is survived besides her husband by three children. Annelia Louise; Steven Douglas and Nora Lee, all of Pocatello; her father, Joe S. Salter and mother, Mrs. Wesley Wing, both of Detroit, Mich; a brother, Ivan Castle, Muskegon, Mich; a sister, Mrs. Merton Gifford, Farmington, N. M.
She was a member of the Fifth Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ladies Auxillary Lodge 387, Loyal Order of Moose; Ladies Auxiliary Aerie 119, FOE.
Funeral services will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the Fifth Ward LDS church with Bishop Alex J. Tubbs officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the Riverside cemetery at Burley. Funeral services are under the direction of the Mellan Funeral Home.
(Note: Ivan Castle was the son of L. J. Castle and his first wife, Eldah Hathaway.)
