OBIT: Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan, Nov. 30, 2006: Grace L. Steinbach, age 90, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Friday, November 24, 2006 at Wakonda Heritage Manor in Wakonda, South Dakota. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Oliver Omanson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service. Grace was born on July 2, 1916, at the family home in Sloan, Iowa to Harry and Jessie (Muckey) Lukhart. She married Vernon Steinbach on December 31, 1934 and raised three sons, Richard, Gary, and Charles. They lived and worked in Marshalltown, Iowa and Fort Dodge, Iowa before returning to Yankton in 1967, where they both worked for Fantles Department Store. Grace worked for Fantles in all three locations for about 40 years. She still said she would like to go back to work if she could. She enjoyed ceramics, bowling, her dogs, family, and having coffee with friend Survivors include two sons, Richard (Claudia) Steinbach of Anaheim, California and Gary (Donna) Steinbach of Yankton, South Dakota; daughter-in-law, Susan Steinbach of Rochester, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Celesta Koblas of Vallejo, California; niece, Muriel Hall of Elk Point, South Dakota; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon, of 66 years; son, Charles; five sisters, Arline, Irene, Matilda, Harrietta, and Hellen; two brothers, Lawrence and Wilbur; and great-grandson, Isaac Boye
