OBIT: The Mt. Pleasant News (IA): Horace Wilson Stevens, 85, of Winfield died Monday evening, March 8, 1976, at Sunrise Terrace Nursing Home. The son of Charles M. and Mary Wilson Stevens, he was born Aug. 3, 1890, near Kahoka, Mo. He as married to Daisy Wickham on Jan. 20, 1916, at Kahoka, Mo. His entire married life was spent in the Winfield-Mt. Union area. He was a member of the United Winfield Church, Winfield. Surviving are his widow: tow sons, Robert and Charles, both of Mt. Union; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Seyb of Winfield; one brother, Collier of Mediapolis; three sisters, Ruth Stevens and Eunice Doey, both of Grand Junction, Colo., and Helen Stevens of Washington, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. One grandchild and one great-grandchild preceded him in death. Services will be Thursday, March 11, at 3:30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Winfield. The Rev. Harold E. Schirm will officiate with interment in the Trinity Cemetery near Mt. Union. A memorial to the church and the library has been established. Friends may call as they desire at Barton-McKasson Funeral Home, Winfield.
