OBITUARY, Nov. 1962: Funeral services were held at the Morgan Funeral Home, Lisbon, on Monday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m., for Mrs. Jerald Nost, 58. The Rev. Robert Teague, pastor of the Federated church, Lisbon, was in charge. Burial was in the Lisbon cemetery. Mrs. Nost died at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids on Friday morning where she was under care for a heart ailment.
Bertha Fay Nost was born to Henry and Allie Wickham Fowler in Cedar County on Feb. 18, 1904. She attended rural schools and had lived all of her life in and around Lisbon. Her life centered on her family and home and she was an excellent wife and mother. Surviving are her husband, two sons Merle and Marvin McCullough and a daughter Shirley Coulbourn, all of Cedar Rapids. Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
