FIND A GRAVE - Fairmount Cem, Denver, Denver Co, CO:
Myrtle M. Dickerson
1889-1961

INFO FROM MELISSA HILLSTROM:
Myrtle and Leslie Jahnke divorced sometime after 1937. Myrtle then apparently lived with a man named Richard Dickerson for many years. It's believed that she did not marry him. She is buried in Fairmount Cemetery under Myrtle Mae Dickerson. I tried to get a copy of her death certificate and they could not find it under Myrtle Mae Liddick or Jahnke so the next step would be to look for it under Dickerson and then try to find a marriage record. However, in those days, many people 'lived' together and the woman took the man's last name for appearances but did not actually marry him.
Paranormal and other things…
The story goes that Myrtle had a sixth sense. One morning she woke up and was on cloud nine because she said Bob, her son, was coming home from the service for a visit. She went about cleaning and cooking all of Bob's favorites. She had not received any notice that he was coming nor did anyone else. Everyone thought she had 'lost' her mind. But dinner time came around and in walked Bob! Everyone was amazed, but then again, not really surprised. Bob said he was trying to surprise her but said he should have known better, he couldn't hide anything from her because she just knew things...
I heard a tale from a granddaughter of Myrtle, who didn't know her, had a co-worker, whom she barely knew, come to her and say she had a message from Myrtle, who had long passed. The message was '1) Do not envy what others have. 2) Love is the most important thing in life and 3) Do not fear death for the other side is beautiful.' The granddaughter called her mom and asked if she knew a Myrtle and her mom said "That's your grandmother, my mother!"
