OBIT: The Times Recorder, April 7, 1945, Zanesville, Ohio -
CALDWELL, O., Cicero M. Archer will known retired farmer of Whigville community several miles east of Caldwell committed suicide early Friday morning while Mrs. Archer was out of the house milking. He fired a shotgun into his heart while seated in front of the fire place and ????? instantly. Mr. Archer had been in failing health for some time, and this was attributed as the cause of the act, Corner Jack Butts gave aa cause of death self inflicted wounds.
Mr. Archer was a son of the late Stephen M. and Rachel Archer and was born at East Union, east of Caldwell and has resided and been engaged in farming in Noble county all of his life.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Martha Archer, three sons and a daughter, Glenn Archer of Whigville, Howard Archer of ???; Kermit Archer of Newark, and Mrs. Claire Steele of Cambridge, and nine grandchildren. He was a brother of the late State Senator Judge M. B. Archer of Caldwell, and is the last remaining member of his parent's family.
Last rites will be held from the Methodist church at East Union, Sunday at 2 p.m.
