Sara A. Lochhaas, 75, of Ballwin, MO, died May 19, 2005 at Town and Country, MO. She was born February 8, 1930 at Falls City to the late Martin and Edna (Fehr) Schnute.
On February 20, 1993 Sara was married to Rev. Dr. Phillip H. Lochhaas at St. Louis, MO. They continued to live in St. Louis.
Sara was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1947. She graduated from Concordia College at Seward, NE and received her Master's Degree from George Mason University at Fairfax, VA. She taught at Lutheran Parochial Schools in Oklahoma, Texas and Hawaii and public schools in Fairfax County, VA, Long Island, NY and Monroe County IN. She retired in 1990. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Des Peres, MO.
Sara is survived by her husband Rev. Dr. Philip of Ballwin, MO, step sons, David and his wife Cindy of Columbia, MO and Thomas and his wife Kate of Newbury Port, MA, step daughters, Susan Feero of St. Louis, MO and Ruth McPeck and her husband Phil of Aurora, CO, sisters Louise Schnute of Alameda, CA and Ruth Nisbet and her husband Larry of Littleton, CO, and five step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Martha Schnute.
Funeral services will be held May 25, 2005 1:30 PM at Christ Lutheran Church at Falls City with Pastor Aaron Pingel officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Des Peres, MO at a later date.
The family will receive friends May 24, 2005 from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home.
