GALESBURG, IL - Helen L. Foster, 69, a resident of Galesburg for the past 1 1/2 years, formerly of the Princeville and Chillicothe areas, died at 5:31 a.m. Monday, June 15, 1992, at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Edelstein to John D. and Frances Thorneycroft Hammer.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Tursky of Woodhull; one sister, Virginia Coble of Chillicothe; two brothers, Jack Hammer of Chillicothe and Richard Hammer of Homer; and three grandchildren. One brother preceded her in death.
She was a clerk and worked on the switchboard at Methodist Medical Center for 14 years, retiring in 1974. She was a former member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Chillicothe.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hammitt Funeral Home in Princeville. The Rev. Daniel Gansch-Boythe will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
