INFO FROM FRANK LESLIE: My grandmother, Mary Wickham, was teaching school in NE when she met my grandfather, Solomon Leslie. They were married in 1867. Solomon was also teaching school. I still have one of his teaching certificates. Solomon was to go to the army in 1862, and when he reported in at Quincy, IL, he was turned away as the unit was already full (lucky break for all his descendants). I have a copy of the document stating he was released from duty.

Mary married Solomon LESLIE on 13 Oct 1867 in Salem, Richardson Co, NE.¹ (Solomon LESLIE was born on 21 Feb 1838 in Liberty, Adams Co, IL ⁴ and died on 8 Mar 1893 in Salem, Richardson Co, NE ⁴.)
