OBIT: Mills County Triburne, December 8, 1904, page 1, column 4: Mrs. Fred Shamblen, aged 76 and an old resident here, died in Glenwood Monday from senile pneumonia. The funeral took place at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Clemmer of Council Bluffs officiating. The deceased was born in Ohio Feb. 2, 1828, coming to Glenwood 28 years ago. Four children survive as follows: Mrs. John Johnson, Mrs. Adam Rager, Glenwood; Mrs. Jessie Dowell, Brainerd, Neb.; Mrs. Mary Vanderford, Omaha.
