OBIT, Cambridge Jeffersonian, January 10, 1983: Summerfield - Jane Bates, 79, of Sarahsville R. D. 1, died Sunday (Jan 9, 1983) at 6 P.M. at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, following a lingering illness. She was born Oct. 9, 1903 in Noble County, daughter of the late Wesley and Rhoda Butler Wickham. She was a housewife and a Methodist by faith. Her husband, Isaac Bates, died July 30, 1977. She leaves six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Wickham of Duncan Falls; and one brother, Guy Wickham of Cannelville. She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at Brubach Funeral Home, Summerfield, where services will be Wednesday at 1 P.M. with the Rev. Harold Green officiating. Burial will be in East Union Cemetery.
