OBIT, Montezuma (IA) Republican. Mar. 29, 1945 -
SERVICES HELD FRIDAY FOR MICHAEL FAYER - Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Steffy Funeral Home for Michael Fayer, who passed away early Monday evening. Rev. Merton D. Wyatt conducted the services, and Mrs. Burnell Haworth and Mrs. Kelley Davis sang "The Old Rugged Cross", and "God Will Take Care of You". Burial was in the local cemetery.
Pallbearers were Berton Stanford, Alfred Tish, Roy Pugh, Lee Littrel, Fred Davis, and Jacob Van Hoever.
Obituary.
Michael Fayer, son of Micah el and Melia Fayer, was born August 3, 1865, and passed away March 19, 1945, at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 16 days.
He married December 1, 1886 to Rachel Ella Young and to this union were born a son, Ed Fayer, and two daughters, Mrs. Estella James of Montezuma, and Mrs. Bertha Allan of New Sharon.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1928, and also two brothers, John and Edward, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Coburn.
Mr. Fayer moved to a farm west of Montezuma with his parents when he was ten years of age and on this same farm he spent the rest of his life of almost 70 years. He continued to live alone in the old home after the death of his wife in 1928.
He is survived by one son and two daughters, and a host of friends and relatives.
