OBIT, The Oregon City News, Aug. 2, 1996: Edna Laverne Koch died July 26 in Portland, at the age of 78. She was born Sept. 2, 1917 in Hillsboro. Kock was a secretary with the Painter's Union, Local #10 for 20 years, before retiring in 1981. She was also a member of Kern Park First Christian Church, and a member of the Oregon Genealogy Society. Kock is survived by son Jim Brown, of Portland; son Ron Brown, of Redmond; and, step-son Frank Kock, of Prineville. Remembrances may be made to the Oregon Heart Association. Arrangements were handled by Hillside Chapel.
