Ausmand Beal Curby, 71, a retired farmer and native of Tuscarawas county, died at 4:45 a. m. today at his home on Newcomerstown Route 3 following a long illness.
He was born near Gilmore on July 30, 1885, a son of P. P. and Maria Moore Curby. and was married Dec. 24, 1912, to Jessie Davis, who survives. Mr. Curby was a member of the Hartwood Methodist church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Paul Curby, Newcomerstown; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Mathews, Newcomerstown and Mrs. Andy Yousko, Dover; one sister, Mrs. Eugene Schlupp, Newcomerstown; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One sister is deceased.
Services will be held at the Ourant funeral home in Newcomerstown in charge of Rev. Dwight Lyons and burial will be in Hartwood cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ourant funeral home.
